The "V" word

Someone knew about my obsession 

Someone who happens to be a pastry chef

Someone brought over a fresh baked cupcake 

Placed delicately in a chocolate brown box

I hesitated

. . .

**Background**

I am terribly afraid of the word "vegan"

I vowed to stay far away from anything containing that word

No way jose am I going to eat soy

or tofu

or meatless chicken nuggets

or vegan cupcakes

. . . 

But as time goes by

I guess you can say I've become more adventurous

So when that chocolate vegan cupcake arrived on my desk

I knew it was time

Tried not to think of the "V" word

And went for it

Turned out this vegan cupcake wasn't so alien after all

Surprisingly good!

Chocolate was sweet and rich

Icing was silky smooth

Complemented the cake perfectly

So there

I did it!

Could this be a step towards considering the thought of becoming vegan??

Hmmm . . .
