So
...
I got a reality check when I stepped on the scale this morning.
I had a little too much fun last weekend and went a tad bit overboard
plus, i've got a lifetime supply of leftovers to show for it ....
I love summertime!
But to fully enjoy summer in the city I have got to do it in moderation
Is it just me or is staying in shape during this warm weather season pretty tough??
I came up with a few reasons why summertime pounds might happen:
Excuse number 1:
I'm just too busy!! After work comes all the extra curricular activities. Both social and personal stuff that just needs to be done.
This means no time for the gym and no time to cook, which means no other choice but to grab the closest thing in site, which is usually not the best choice
#2:
There's just too too much good food in the city! I decided to do more walking. Opt for walking home instead of subway-ing it. That's all good and great except that it teases my poor olfactory nerves. Walking down these streets, you face rows upon rows of cute bake shop here; $2.00 pizza over there; mac and cheese to go up ahead; waffle truck parked on the sidewalk; and of course, shawarma right in front of you
#3:
It's summertime!!! It's hot!! and that means ice-cream and bbqs and a bigger desire to eat out
Sigh
...
Fine, maybe I'm whining much
Maybe it's just me
But
I came up with a game plan:
Portion control, portion control, portion control!!
Joined a running group
Doing more walking everyday
I.MUST.COOK.MORE!!
Simple
(saying a little prayer so I don't end up twice my size just cuz it's summer...)
If only each day were 36 hours
