Well not really (unfortunately)
Went to the MET last weekend and a few Greek sculptures caught my eye. I loved them for their colors. A subtle, soft pink and tan. Toned down, dull, almost even dirty/dusty.
A related aside:
I love learning new things about myself.
And
Just a few weeks ago, I finally figured out my color aesthetic.
About 2 months or so ago I turned in a project for my color theory class. We were going through and critiquing all the projects and my teacher said something that stuck in my mind
"Great Design Chi-Chi... But I don't know, I don't think those colors represent your aesthetic"
I didn't get it. I mean, yes I love earth tone colors. I adore my browns, olive greens and maroons but I also like other colors! I like pinks and blues and yellows and purples too! I wanted to do something different for that certain project and divert from my usual brownish color palate and use bright colors.
And a few weeks ago I finally figured out what she meant. I don't do bright colors. My pinks, blues, yellows and purples have to be dulled down, almost with a touch of dirt, a sort of brownish tint to it...
Anyway, enough of that. So I found these sculptures, the pink was perfect and the tan just did it for me.
And So...
I decided to use Grecian themes as inspiration for my next collection!!
And here's a photoshoot from Elle Greece March 2010 shot by Dimitris Skoulos. Loving the textures, color palette and the attitude of it all:
