Some really amazing paintings I found:

Anthony Velasquez:

 This piece caught my eye because I had to do a painting just like it. It was a color theory assignment and inspired by 17th century Dutch still life paintings. The challenge was to use transparency in our paintings to create the dimensions of color. 

Lets just say it wasn't the easiest task

But...

It definitely gave me an appreciation for still life paintings. I love this one because, of course, the earth tone colors. So many layers and colors all blending to create this harmony...
