Sometimes it's best just to let some people go

because...

you can try and try, love and love, care and care

but no matter what, these feelings aren't acknowledged/appreciated

so...

you have to let them go and focus on the people who mean more in your life.

Because life really is just too short...

and thats all I have to say about that one.

I was shocked when I heard the news this morning. For someone to take their own life.... that's really something else.

He was brilliant. His amazing attention to detail, his graphic prints and his use of structure. Just brilliant!!!

Fashion Week Fashion Week Fashion Week!!!

I have a confession to make....

I stopped and thought twice.

I mean, it was saturday night. I had been working on a garment (being shown at NY fashion week!!!) for the past 14 hours and the night before I had put in about 9 hours and the night before that, more countless hours and I knew that I still had tons more work to do and tons more hours to put in.

My back and neck aching, getting frustrated with the machine and the delicate fabric and then looking over to see how much more work I had to do.

Men.... I had to ask why i put myself thru all this. Designing is NOT easy AT ALL!!!! As I was sewing my life away I thought, 'this has to be the hardest and most time consuming profession'... I felt like I was going crazy.

And then... I realized why in the world I put myself thru this

Because I am part of an amazing industry filled with so much beauty. At our meeting to discuss our fashion week event, I felt so proud. Forgot all about the 80 million hours of work I put in and couldn't think of anything else but Wednesday 17th when that beautiful garment will be shown. Right there for all the press and VIP guests to see. And then I thought about the exhibition in March.

I guess thats why I do it.

I mean, I recently realized that I am hopelessly obsessed with beautiful things. And here I am, in a position to create such beauty.

Sigh...

I love it I do.

So I'm volunteering at a couple shows tomorrow and on Monday. Should be fun!

As I was touring the studios, I realized how happy/lucky I am to have these unique opportunities. I'm surrounded by brilliant artists and beautiful things! Constantly inspired.

It's gonna be a fun weekend: Fashion week, Valentines day, and Monday off!!! Yay!!!

I just have to make sure I stay on top of all my homework.... cuz I've got TONS to do!!!
