This One's for Mr. Burton

This one is for Mr Burton.

And thats Mr. Tim Burton cuz I finally got myself over to the MoMA (Museum of Modern Arts) to check out the exhibition.

What did I think of it?
A-Maz-Ing!!

(listening to Yori Yori by Bracket)

so.... Here I am going through each image and wondering why in the world I am slowly but surely falling in love with this artist. And I'm falling pretty deep.

I don't know. I mean, I love beautiful things as you can probably tell by the images I post, but Mr. Burton is just so brilliant. His style and aesthetic is so distinct and eye catching. It's kinda beautiful in its own weird and awkward way.

About the exhibition

It has a whole bunch of his works. From stuff he did as a kid in middle and high school, to some sketches and paintings from his popular movies like Edward Scissorshand, Nightmare Before Christmas, Beeetlejuice, Sweeney Tod, and so much more.

I just love his caricatures. I love how he uses lines, repetition and distortion to create these characters that you can completely figure out their personalities. I love his distinct use of color and shapes and admire his imaginiation.

Yes, I love Mr. Burton cuz he takes us into a different world. He takes us into this world where anything is possible. Where you can look completely sick and twisted with scissors as hands but still be sweeter than ever. A world where you can love even tho cupid is not on your side. A twisted world of color, imagination and crazy cool gadgets. A world where its ok to be a little different, to be a little awkward. I don't know, even though his characters are twisted looking, they just don't seem evil. There is a slight hint of peace... and thats how I see Mr. Burton

Yeah, he's pretty twisted but completely awesome and I can't wait to see Alice in Wonderland.

So... if you ever get the chance, check out the Tim Burton exhibition at the MoMa. Its free on Friday nights!

Next, is life lessons

Listening to Just Dance - Lady Gaga

So... I truly believe that you learn something new everyday. Yup, you sure do. Its just up to you to sit back and reflect on the life lessons you learnt at the end of the day.

and my life lesson of the day: Letting things go.

Things happen. Bad things happen. Things that make us mad, things that make us sad, things that really mess up plans. And it sucks a whole lot. It sucks when you get bad news and you sit there thinking about how this news affects this and that and how this news messes up this plan and how now you can no longer do that.... but when it comes down to it, life really is short and sometimes you have to let things go. I learnt that if it has happened, and you can't possibly do anything about it, you just have to take it as a learning experience and move on.

and...

Just Dance. cuz its gonna be ok... Lol

I am a true believer of the saying that every disappointment is a blessing. So my thing is: try your best to do what you can and at a point, you just have to let go and have faith.

And with that said, its time to peace out.

Can't wait for tomorrow cuz my beautiful sister is finally coming to the city to visit! Yay!!
